Welcome to my personal home page! My entry into the world of wireless communications began in the mid-1990s with CB radio (Citizens Band Radio). At that time I was fascinated by the possibility of communicating with people in my neighbourhood via radio waves. After a few years, however, I lost interest in CB radio and other things took centre stage.

 

Many years later, during a visit to the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne, I discovered the amateur radio station HB9O. This encounter rekindled my old interest in radio communication and introduced me to the world of amateur radio. Between 2005 and 2006 I attended the ILT school to prepare intensively for the OFCOM exam. In 2006 I successfully passed the exam for the HB3 licence and shortly afterwards the exam for the HB9 licence, both at OFCOM.

 

My passion in amateur radio lies mainly in the digital modes, including RTTY, PSK and FT4/FT8. I find these modes particularly fascinating because of their efficiency and the technical challenge they offer. Whenever time allows, I also like to participate in digital contests to test my skills and gain new experience.

 

Since 2008, I have been living with my family in the canton of Uri in central Switzerland. This region is known for its breathtaking mountain scenery, which may not offer the ideal conditions for amateur radio, but is a wonderful environment for family life. Despite the geographical challenges, I have found ways to continue my passion for amateur radio while enjoying the beauty of nature to the full.
